G&LC Schloss Liebenstein: At the beginning of the 1980s, Schloss Liebenstein passed from the House of Württemberg into the ownership of a limited partnership formed by the municipality of Neckarwestheim near Heilbronn and enthusiastic golfers. On the grounds of the Liebenstein estate, they built the first 18-hole course.
The golf club was founded in 1982 and soon took over the operation of the course, which it has run to this day as Golf- und Landclub Schloss Liebenstein e.V. In 1993, the club built a third 9-hole course, and in 1996, the spacious new clubhouse was inaugurated. With around 120 hectares of land, the club is one of the largest golf clubs in Baden-Württemberg.

Dear golfers,
distinguished guests,
It is a special pleasure for me, in my role as Youth Director of the Baden-Württemberg Golf Association, to welcome you to the 16th International Matchplay Trophy (imt) 2026 at the Golf and Country Club Schloss Liebenstein.
Over the past years, the imt has established itself as a major junior tournament in Germany – a sporting showcase that brings together top young talent, exciting matches, and genuine international encounters. For 2026, there is an important change: golfer participants can now be up to 21 years old, giving even more young talents the opportunity to take part in this special tournament and gain valuable match-play experience. The fact that the imt is once again listed on the EGA calendar underlines its high significance and allows players to earn important world ranking points.
My thanks go to the GC Schloss Liebenstein for hosting the imt for the first time, to all volunteers for their great commitment, and to our partners for their reliable support of this tournament.
I wish all participants fair and successful competition – and above all, much enjoyment of the game. May the imt 2026 be an inspiring milestone on your personal golfing journey.
Sincerely,
Anja Canz
Youth Director
Baden-Württemberg Golf Association
